Snap Shots

Oh how I've missed my little blog!
I know I've been MIA for awhile but I'm back. I haven't been sewing much lately, I've been consumed with the holidays, family visits, weekend trips and reading a new series (The Mortal Instruments).

I trust your Christmas was as merry as mine!

We have had a wonderful past couple of weeks with Adrian's birthday/party and Christmas. Adrian was able to get two straight weeks off of work, which is a first for us, and I loved every single minute of it! His family had come down from El Paso for his party on the weekend before Christmas and we all decided to head to San Antonio the next day.

We stayed on the Riverwalk at an amazing historic hotel, The St. Anthony. It was rumored to have been haunted on the 10th floor which I didn't really believe but was still freaked out by it. The inside of the hotel was incredible. I felt like we were in the Titanic.
And the Riverwalk was magical!

There were Cinderella-like horse drawn carriages all lit up like a fairy tale. Even the light drizzle added some charm to the night.

We drove to Austin the following Monday to visit a little fabric shop that I had been dying to see called The Stitch Lab. It is exactly what I would want my own fabric shop to look like. It was cozy and sweet and carried all my favorite designers including Echino and Melody Miller.

Wish I would've taken more pictures! I only had my phone on hand and it was suprisingly packed with early bird visitors so I was only able to get a few decent shots. But lucky for you, Dana from MADE had visited this shop before and she took A LOT of great pictures and wrote about it here.

We got to spend a beautiful Christmas at my mom's house upon our return. AJ and Morgane made a wonky gingerbread house, which they were so proud of!

Zooey joined us somewhere along the way. LOVE HER!!

And I must've been a reeeeally good girl this year because Santa was so good to me! I got lots of great goodies including a new sewing machine and an amazing new lens for my camera, which takes phenomenal close up photos. Observe.

I KNOW!! Can't wait to bring in the new year with some great projects and giveaways I have lined up. Tell me, how was your Christmas??

Goodies Winner!

Have you been entering all the amazing giveaways at Sew, Mama, Sew??

I have been entering like crazy and I still think I haven't even made a dent. I'm participating as well, giving away a 241 tote and I've had so much fun reading all your fun entries about your favorite Christmas scents. Some are really out of the ordinary!

Last night however, I wasted a good couple of hours reading through all the entries on my friend Nicke's giveaway post. She asked for embarassing moments and I was literally laughing out loud reading through some of the stories! She's offering an amazing prize, by the way. Go check it out!

Ok, now on to the good stuff... I had 170 entries for the Bag Full O' Goodies giveaway! What an amazing response!

I'm glad I had an opportunity to be able to share some of my favorite things with one of you. I totally forgot that I was planning on adding some Mexican candy to the mix. You muuuust try tamarindo and leche quemada! I will definitely be adding some next time around.

Random.org chose commentor #73, Petite in Pink!!

Congratulations!! Petite in Pink turned out to be a no-reply blogger (no contact info on profile) but luckily, she's a Facebook follower and I am able to get ahold of her! If you are participating in my other current giveaways, please make sure your email address is either linked to your profile or written on your comment. I'd hate to have to choose another winner if I can't contact you!

Have a great Tuesday!!

Ruffle Pouches

Don't you just love osnaburg? I think I'm slightly obsessed.

I had fun making these rather large ruffle pouches for some special people. They don't know who they are yet but they will soon!

They measure about 10.5" by 11.5", large enough to fit my iPad. I wrote down measurements as I was making them but didn't take pictures. Maybe a tutorial in the future? Or perhaps my first pattern? What do you think??

They each have a fun burst of color inside and a matching zipper pull (which is just raw-edged fabric that can easily be cut off).

I can't wait to surprise the recepients with these cuties. I hope they love them!

I have two giveaways going on right now, in case you've missed them! Click here for a chance to win this Bag Full O' Goodies. Giveaway ends 12/13.

And click here for a chance to win $25 shop credit to Miss Mommy. Giveaway ends 12/16.

Thanks to all who have participated so far!
Have a lovely weekend!!

Giveaway with Miss Mommy

**GIVEAWAY CLOSED**

I'm so excited to bring you this giveaway today!

I met Nicole awhile ago when she contacted me to make some crayon rolls for her two beautiful daughters. I learned that she lives in Australia, blogs at Miss Mommy, and has a sweet etsy shop where she makes amazing jewelry. After getting to know eachother and sending several messages back and forth, we decided to do a swap giveaway on our blogs! Nicole was nice enough to send me a triple wrap leather bracelet and a matching ring to review.

My sister happened to be at my house when the lovely package arrived and fell in love with the set. She put it on immediately and I didn't even notice that she ended up leaving my house with it! Well I finally got it back to snap a few pictures! (However, she insisted it go in her stocking this year!)

I don't think I'll be able to part with them. I'm kind of in love!

Nicole has so many different kinds of bracelets, necklaces, broaches and rings in her shop. These are just a few of my favorites.

Nicole has graciously agreed to offer one lucky Pink Stitches reader $25 credit to her lovely shop! What do you have to do to enter:

Mandatory Entry:

- Follow Miss Mommy, the blog (1 entry)

Additional Entries:

Christmas Pillows

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmaaaaaas!

I put up my tree and decorations awhile back but haven't really posted anything about it yet. I thought I'd share a few Christmas pillows I made for my living room.

I made this one with a bunch of red and green scraps that I had. I just made a bunch of HST's and came up with this little guy.

For this one, I just made a simple star block & sashed it with some Kona Snow.

And my personal faaaavorite! I'm so in love with this bow pillow. The red fabric is a rich, dark linen that gives it a beautiful rustic look.

I bought some dark green linen with the intention of making a matching set but never quite got around to it. I might eventually end up making one but for now, my to do list is impossibly long.

I'm getting together with an old friend tonight and I'm so excited to spend some time with her. She recently got engaged and I just looove talking about wedding preparations! Looking forward to a relaxing evening. Have a great day!
